Cutting Cost
Cutting cost can help offset some of the loss of income due to the turbulent economy.
Here a few items you might consider scaling back or if possible eliminating until the return of the glory days.
Cable TV (cut back a few channels, de-activate satellite boxes in rooms you don’t use)
Internet (reduce your bandwidth speed, use internet cafes)
Cell Phone (go with unlimited service and eliminate the need for your home phone, or get the most basic plan for emergencies only)
Home Phone (most people don’t need a home phone)
VOIP (get the most out of your internet connection, great for long distance and international calls)
Electric (turn off lights when you’re not in the room, turn off all appliances when you’re not using them, reduce the temperature on your hot water heater, get an automatic timed thermostat)
Trash (sort your garbage and make weekly trips to the recycle center/landfill)
Alarm Monitoring (put monitoring on hold/freeze until you can afford it again)
Food (use coupons purchase items on sale, join a wholesale warehouse and buy in bulk)
Auto Insurance (review your insurance policy and make sure all you information is correct make sure you’re not overpaying, set your deductable to a number you can live with)
Lawn (do you own landscaping, cut your grass)
